What is Equol ?   

Equol, chemically known as 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-chromanol, is a white powder with a melting point of 189-190°C and a purity of 99%. It is primarily used as a pharmaceutical raw material.

Equol can reduce serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and uric acid levels in type 2 diabetic rats, and improve renal oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. Its mechanism of action is related to the activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway. This compound is produced by the metabolism of soy isoflavones by intestinal flora and has a structure similar to estroge. Berberine can improve anxiety-like behavior in ovariectomized female rats by enriching equol-producing bacteria.

Feature

Estrog-like effects
