γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA), also known as 4-aminobutyric acid or aminobutyric acid, has a chemical formula of C₄H₄NO₂, a molecular weight of 103.12, and a CAS number of 56-12-2. It is a white crystalline powder with a melting point of 195-204°C and is readily soluble in water.
