What is Vitamin B7?

   Biotin, also known as vitamin H or coenzyme R, is a water-soluble vitamin belonging to the B vitamin group, specifically B7. It is essential for the synthesis of vitamin C and is indispensable for the normal metabolism of fats and proteins. It is a necessary nutrient for maintaining natural growth, development, and normal bodily functions.


   Biotin discovered in the 1930s during research on yeast growth factors and growth and respiration-promoting factors in rhizobia. It is found in the liver and can prevent hair loss and skin damage in rats induced by feeding them raw egg protein. Biotin is a member of the water-soluble B vitamin group. It is abundant in liver, kidney, yeast, and milk, and is an important factor in the fixation of carbon dioxide by organisms.

Application

1. Enhances the body's immune response and resistance. Biotin enhances the body's immune response and resistance to infection, stabilizes lysosomal membranes in normal tissues, maintains humoral and cellular immunity, and influences the secretion of a series of cytokines. High doses can promote thymic hyperplasia; when used in combination with immune enhancers, it can strengthen immunity.


2. Maintains normal growth and development. Biotin deficiency leads to reproductive dysfunction, poor bone growth, and hindered growth and development in embryos and infants.


3. In cosmetics, it can increase blood circulation in the skin's blood vessels. At concentrations of 0.1% to 1.0%, it is easily miscible with the oil phase in formulations. It can be used in skin creams, sports solutions, shaving solutions, and shampoos.

What is Vitamin B7?
