Melia toosendan extract is a brownish-yellow powder made from the dried, mature fruit of the Melia toosendan plant (family Meliaceae) through extraction and concentration (common ratios include 5:1, 10:1, and 20:1). It mainly contains active ingredients such as toosendanin, limonene, and alkaloids.
Source and Properties: Extracted from the mature fruit of Melia toosendan, it appears as a fine brownish-yellow powder, water-soluble or in the form of an extract. It is commonly obtained through ethanol/water reflux heating or spray drying processes.
Application
Anthelmintic effect: Azadirachtin can paralyze the muscles of intestinal parasites such as roundworms and pinworms, preventing them from attaching to the intestinal wall and causing them to be expelled.
Anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects: In vitro and animal experiments show that it has inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella dysenteriae, and Candida albicans, and can reduce local inflammatory reactions.
Regulating gastrointestinal function: Small doses can relieve functional bloating and promote bile secretion.
