Paederia scandens extract is a standardized powder or paste obtained by concentrating and extracting the whole herb or aerial parts of Paederia scandens (Lour.) Merr., a plant in the Rubiaceae family, through solvents (such as water and ethanol). Common specifications include a 10:1 ratio. It is brownish-red in color and contains active ingredients such as iridoid glycosides, flavonoids, volatile oils, and anthraquinones.
The main active components of Paederia scandens extract include iridoid glycosides (such as Paederia scandens glycoside, Paederia scandens secondary glycoside, and Paederia scandens glycoside), flavonoids, volatile oils, sterols (such as β-sitosterol and γ-sitosterol), and small amounts of triterpenic acids (such as oleanolic acid) and phenylpropanoids.
It is mainly used as a raw material in traditional Chinese medicine preparations or health products.
Application
