Product Description

What is Soy Lecithin?

Soy Lecithin is a high-purity functional lipid extracted from non-GMO soybean oil during the refining process. It is obtained via solvent extraction and alcohol precipitation, resulting in a light yellow, free-flowing powder with a minimum 98% lecithin content. Rich in phospholipids, such as  phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylinositol, soy lecithin plays a key role in cellular structure, liver protection, and fat metabolism.

In the food and supplement industry, soy lecithin is widely used as a natural emulsifiermoisturizer, and stabilizer. It also functions as a source of choline, supporting brain and liver health.

Applications

  • Nutritional Supplements: Choline source in brain and liver support formulas
  • Functional Foods: Emulsifier in chocolate, dairy, and baked goods
  • Cosmetic Industry: Skin-conditioning agent in creams and lotions
  • Pharmaceuticals: Carrier for fat-soluble actives in softgels and tablets
  • Animal Feed: Enhances lipid digestibility and nutrient absorption

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is the difference between soy lecithin powder and granules?
Lecithin powder is ultra-fine and disperses more quickly in liquid formulations. Granules are coarser and often used in direct oral consumption or in solid functional food applications.

2. Is soy lecithin suitable for people with soy allergies?
Though derived from soybeans, lecithin is typically free of allergenic soy proteins. However, individuals with severe soy allergies should consult with a medical professional before use.

3. Can soy lecithin be used in vegan or vegetarian formulations?
Yes. It is a 100% plant-based ingredient and commonly used in vegan food, capsules, and cosmetics.

5. Do you offer custom blends or emulsification systems?
Yes. We support OEM for custom lecithin-phospholipid blends, including combinations with tocopherols, MCT, or sunflower lecithin.
