Decarboxycarnosine HCl, scientifically known as β-alanyl histamine, is an imidazole dipeptide composed of β-alanine and L-histamine.This component was first discovered in crustaceans in 1975 and later detected in the hearts of mammals. Its structure is similar to carnosine, exhibiting antioxidant and anti-glycation functions as well as greater stability. As a carnosine derivative, it possesses anti-glycation and antioxidant properties, can prevent and repair skin damage, and exhibits superior stability compared to traditional carnosine.
