Calcium hydrogen phosphate, also known as calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate or calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, is a white crystalline powder or a white monoclinic crystalline powder. It is odorless and tasteless, with a density of 2.31 g/cm³, a boiling point of 158℃, a melting point of 109℃ for the dihydrate, and 190℃ for the monoclinic form.
This compound is slightly soluble in water. Regarding stability, the dihydrate is stable below 36℃, while the anhydrous form is stable above 36℃. Above 100℃, it gradually loses its water of crystallization, and at 400–430℃, it forms calcium pyrophosphate. It is mainly used as a food additive and pharmaceutical excipient (such as a diluent and adsorbent), and can affect the stability and absorption/metabolism of drug formulations.

Calcium and Phosphorus Supplementation: Dicalcium phosphate provides easily absorbed calcium ions (Ca²⁺) and phosphate ions (PO₄³⁻) in a ratio of approximately 1:1, closely resembling the mineral composition of bones, which is beneficial for bone and teeth calcification and maintenance. Its calcium bioavailability is high, making it a safe and effective source of calcium and phosphorus supplementation.
Leaving and Dough Improvement: As the acidic component of a compound leavening agent in baking, it reacts with sodium bicarbonate to produce carbon dioxide gas, causing the dough to expand evenly. It can regulate the pH of the dough, strengthen the gluten network, and improve the internal structure and texture of bread and pastries.
Anti-caking and Texture Stabilization: Due to its particulate nature and low water absorption, it effectively prevents the clumping of powdered foods (such as milk powder, flour, and seasoning powder), maintaining fluidity. In processed foods, it acts as a texture stabilizer, providing appropriate hardness or crispness.
Food Fortification and Processing: Widely added as a calcium and phosphorus fortifier in flour, breakfast cereals, infant formula, and solid beverages to prevent nutritional deficiencies. Used in baked goods as a leavening agent and pH adjuster to improve product quality. Used in gel foods such as jelly and pudding as a calcium source to promote setting.
Toothpaste and Oral Care: As the main abrasive in toothpaste (20%-50% of the formula), it effectively removes plaque with its moderate hardness and particle shape, causing minimal abrasion to tooth enamel. Also used in oral care products such as tooth powder and denture cleaners.
Feed and Animal Nutrition: As a feed mineral additive, it provides essential calcium and phosphorus to livestock and poultry, promoting bone development and increasing egg and milk production. Used in pet food to maintain dental and bone health.
Pharmaceuticals and Other Industries: Used in pharmaceuticals as a filler, diluent, and raw material for calcium supplements in tablets. Used in the ceramics and glass industries as a flux and ingredient, and also as a flame-retardant filler in plastic products.
For some products that require special packaging during transportation, we will carry out more delicate packaging. For example, retinal needs to be stored at -20 °C, so we choose cold chain transportation during transportation; deoxyarbutin will change color during transportation, so we will Vacuum packing of deoxyarbutin
