Immunomodulatory Effects: Pleurotus eryngii polysaccharides promote the secretion of NO, TNF-α, and IL-6 by RAW264.7 macrophages through activation of the MAPK signaling pathway (p38, ERK, JNK) and NF-κB phosphorylation. Within the concentration range of 0.05–2 mg/mL, the polypeptide fraction (PMEP) can increase macrophage proliferation.
Metabolic Regulation Properties: Medium to high doses of polysaccharides can reduce blood glucose levels in adrenaline-induced hyperglycemic mice.They improve lipid metabolism by regulating the HDL-C/LDL-C ratio and inhibit weight gain in hyperlipidemic mice.
Antioxidant Properties: The sulfonated polysaccharide (S.PEPS) achieves 78% and 65% scavenging rates of OH· and O2-·, respectively, which are more than 25% higher than the unmodified fraction.
