Isomaltooligosaccharide (IMO), also known as isomaltooligosaccharide, isomaltooligosaccharide, branched oligosaccharide, etc., is a type of starch sugar. Its main components are isomaltooligosaccharides, panose, isomaltooligosaccharides, and oligosaccharides with four or more sugars linked by α-1,6 glycosidic bonds between glucose molecules.
In nature, isomaltooligosaccharide is a component of branched-chain starch or polysaccharides. It is found only in small amounts in some fermented foods such as soy sauce and rice wine. Because it can significantly promote the proliferation of bifidobacteria in the human body, has the function of water-soluble dietary fiber, low calorie value, and anti-caries properties, it is a widely used functional oligosaccharide. Commercially available isomaltooligosaccharide products include intestinal health supplements like Lijian.

(1) Isomaltooligosaccharides are difficult for gastric enzymes to digest, have low sweetness and low calories, and basically do not increase blood sugar or blood lipids. Isomaltooligosaccharide products contain no monosaccharides or have very low monosaccharide content, and their energy is only 1/6 that of sucrose. Therefore, long-term consumption will not increase blood sugar or change blood insulin levels, and diabetic patients can consume them with peace of mind.
(2) Isomaltooligosaccharides can promote the proliferation of bifidobacteria in the intestine, inhibit the formation of harmful bacteria and putrefactive substances in the intestine, increase vitamin content, and improve the body's immunity. Isomaltooligosaccharides are not absorbed by the stomach and small intestine, but directly enter the large intestine, where they are preferentially utilized by bifidobacteria, helping them to multiply rapidly, thus acting as a bifidobacteria growth factor; while other harmful bacteria in the intestine cannot utilize them, thereby inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria and promoting a benign cycle in the intestinal microecology.
(3) Anti-caries function. Isomaltooligosaccharides are not utilized by Streptococcus caries and are not broken down by oral enzymes, thus preventing tooth decay. Isomaltooligosaccharides containing isomaltoose residues, when used in combination with sucrose, strongly inhibit the synthesis of insoluble glucans, thereby preventing plaque formation and preventing cariogenic bacteria from attaching, growing, and multiplying on teeth. Therefore, isomaltooligosaccharides have an anti-caries effect in foods made from sucrose.
(4) Isomaltooligosaccharides belong to the class of non-digestible oligosaccharides and have the function of water-soluble dietary fiber. Because oligosaccharides are not digested by human digestive juices, they are also known as low molecular weight, non-sticky, water-soluble dietary fiber. However, functional oligosaccharides do not have the thickening, hydrating, or satiating effects of dietary fiber; their health benefits stem from their unique fermentation characteristics (Bifidobacterium growth factor, BGF).
Food Processing and Baking Applications:Widely used in bread, cakes, biscuits, and fried instant noodles, it prevents starch retrogradation and extends shelf life through its moisturizing properties. Adding it to instant noodles can also significantly reduce oil content and improve color and flavor.
Beverages and Dairy Products: Used in yogurt, lactic acid bacteria beverages, carbonated drinks, and solid beverages, it provides a pure sweetness without affecting the fermentation process. When used in combination with galactooligosaccharides, it has a synergistic effect on the growth of probiotics.
Functional Confectionery and Frozen Drinks:Used in ice cream, popsicles, and candies, it effectively lowers the freezing point and prevents ice crystal formation, enhancing the smooth texture. Its acid and heat resistance makes it suitable for canned goods and low-pH foods processed at high temperatures.
Health Foods: As a core ingredient in dietary supplements, it is directly formulated into powders or oral liquids for intestinal conditioning. In medical foods, it acts as a prebiotic to help improve intestinal flora imbalance during antibiotic treatment or chemotherapy/radiotherapy.

For some products that require special packaging during transportation, we will carry out more delicate packaging. For example, retinal needs to be stored at -20 °C, so we choose cold chain transportation during transportation; deoxyarbutin will change color during transportation, so we will Vacuum packing of deoxyarbutin
